The Personal Narrative

Here is a site that gives instructions about how to write a personal narrative. There's an example too that shows how they parts should fit together.

The Gentlemen of the Jungle

Hi,

It's good to see you here. So, you'd like to improve your work? Here are a few tips to help you get the correct answers for all of the questions.

1- Tell what the elephant does, and what important effect this has on the man.

2- The commission gives two reasons why they give the house to the elephant (one has to do with economy, and the other is about how the elephant is treating the man in general)

3- Not how does the man's problem get worse, but what does he do to make his problem go away? His solution has two steps.

4- The commission is unfair in three ways: 1) How it is composed (or made) 2) Who it listens to and 3) The reason for it's judgment. Tell me what is unfair about each of these parts and you'll have it.

5- What happens after the problem with Mr. Elephant that makes the man give up on the commission?

6- What did the man learn about the animals from his experiences?

Analyzing Literature

1 and 2 - I told you the answers in class - you're on your own here.

3- Traits and characteristics are things like powerful, intelligent, brave, biased, frustrated, clever, and helpful. Think of three traits that are represented by the animals and three traits that are represented by the man.

4- This one asks for you to give your opinion and explain it. You'll need to write 3 or 4 sentences to get all the points here.

Okay. There you go. Hand your work in on Wednesday to improve your grade.
